The coldest months have brought me a surprising amount of warmth this year. Easing into the winter season was as nippy as always though. Often I found myself curled up in bed reading or doodling.
Small things that top up the creative cup in often unexpected ways. Exploring muses, old and new. Delving into desire, what does my heart want to create? Where does it lead me? Am I brave enough to tread these paths?
The need for reference photos took me out to a great local spot, McKee Reserve. Despite the chill, a sunny day is always a good one at the beach.
Rolling waves and blue sky was a blissful sight as the sea to stretched on forever. Capturing little moments that bring one back to the present. People and creatures passing through before me, and likely passing after.
A trip to Tekapo was a lively time. Even though I was out sick for more than I would have liked, it was as stunning as ever.
Mountains cloaked in snow surrounding us. Giant white sentries, guardians of the lake. Hot chocolates laden with Shankys Whip and board games were a must.
A flurry of snow on our last night make for a dreamy ride home through the Lewis Pass the next day. Native trees dusted with snow made for a very picturesque drive.
Then a very exciting evening, the opening of the Ordinary Wonders exhibition held at the new Tawera Nelson Arts Hub, which myself and other local artists took part in.

It was a wonderful opening with a crowd of people waiting to get in. A celebration of art, community and togetherness that will be hard to forget. The whole event truly spoke to the importance of the arts in our region and the people who donated time, materials and stories to make it happen.
And finally, but seriously exciting, this website is live! It seems like I've been tucked away in this little corner of the internet talking to myself for so long, so it feels amazing to finally have this live and out there. A big thank you to the friends and family who helped me along the way. Building this out was no was easy task so it's very exciting to finally share it with the world. Goodness knows I'll likely have more to share very soon.
